We have long known that inhalation of tobacco smoke is detrimental to our health. If someone wishes to smoke, they should do so on their own private property, not in public where it can affect others in a negative manner. If we enforce a ban on smoking inside and within a radius of public areas, then we can prevent avoidable and unfair health issues from arising in bystanders.

Texting on cell phones is just the same thing as not paying attention to the road, so we should prevent the probable accidents by banning texting while driving.

ReplyDeleteDoing drugs harms not only the people doing it, but everybody else around them. We know that death at an early age can result from drug abuse. If we really care about having a long and healthy life, drugs should be avoided.

ReplyDeleteEverybody knows about the swine flu. Everybody understands how contagious it can be. But on the other hand, pneumonia is also contagious. If one person comes down with pneumonia, the whole school does not shut down. If one person comes down with swine flu, it is not necessary for every person in the school to be quarantined.
ReplyDeletePlastic bags are harmful to the environment. We know that plastic does not biodegrade and instead, become smaller and smaller pieces until they are plastic particles. Even this takes at least forty-five years and up to a thousand years. Small pieces of plastic may be swallowed by animals which could cause starvation and death. If we ban the usage of plastic bags, we can save these animals who die of plastic ingestion.
ReplyDeleteFor many years now, computer users know that the computer are unreliable machines. there are obvious reasons, like malfunctions with the computer and the printer. There are different issues that are brought up when using the computer. Students are more likely to get side-tracked, thus finishing the assignment in a greater amount of time. Yet teachers blame the students for not bringing their work or turning their work in late. Teachers need to lay-off the need for students to rely on computers to finish work.

They have been buying copious amounts of masks, avoiding enclosed areas, and taking their children out of school in order to prevent contamination. If preventing swine flu from affecting our lives is really what we want, then we should stop living in fear of contamination.

If the school really cares about the clean feeling of the campus, then there should be more rules to limit the amount of gum and sunflower seeds, while increasing the number of trash cans..

We must acknowledge that sometimes If students are limited in the types of presents they present to teachers, then the potential for manipulative intent will be eliminated.

Now the only reason we still have troops there is to help rebuild Iraq. But what about the larger problems at hand? There are still terrorists at large capable of dangerous things.
From the days of Myspace, the Internet now offers an increasingly wide variety of media tools, including Facebook, Twitter, and blog-hosts, such as Tumblr, Wordpress, and Blogspot. In addition, collaboration tools such as Google Docs and Nicenet.net, a virtual classroom, allow students to reap the benefits from cooperative work. If we want our next workforce to survive in an increasingly competitive society, tools such as these need to be integrated into the school curriculum.

ReplyDeleteDue to the current health care system, 50 million Americans are forced to live without health insurance. That's 50 million who will have to pay for healthcare out of their own pockets, but that's not the only issue they face. The lack of health insurance lowers the quality of life for those Americans. An American without health insurance is denied proper medical treatment due to the cost.
ReplyDeleteMany students enjoy and welcome late start wednesdays in middle and high school, because it gives them time to rest and rejuvenate from school stress, as well as catch up on their school work. The traffic that some students are forced to endure add more tension by making them stress over if they are going to be late or not. If students are too reduce their stress levels and get to school on time, then Monta Vista must change its late start schedule.

If such a class is so popular and unique, a Writing for Publications 2 class should be created as an option for those who want to further pursue the writing career. One year is not enough to teach everything.
ReplyDeleteIf being accepted is what all the girls doing extreme things are striving for, then they should find other ways to fit in. Girls can get involved in sports or other activities that will put them in social circles. The most important thing for girls is to not be obsessed about how they look, but to be the best person they can.

However, even our desire to do just that cannot outweigh our addiction to fossil fuels; hybrids burn little or no gas, yet they are still largely unpopular. However, If everyone began to drive a hybrid at this moment, then our carbon footprint would surely be cut in half.

The criminals pick the time of the day when they know their victims are asleep or busy, they are unaware of their surroundings. If safety is everyone's top priority at home, then the Hello Kitty will ensure that no criminal can get passed the doorway.

If they do this, students will again gain the self-confidence that they are smart in math and can achieve further into this subject.

ReplyDeleteThere are some high school students that are not well-excelled in academics, and they seem to find their only bright spot of talents in sports. These students look to athletic activities to show college acceptance boards their commitment and ability, even if their grades are not the most admirable. Other students who earn exemplary grades also turn to sports as a period of relaxation from the endless loads of stress. If students have logical and understandable reasons for devoting time out of their busy schedules to sports, then the decision of immediate cancellation should be reconsidered.
ReplyDeleteIf group tests continue to rise in popularity, more students will continue to receive unfair grades. After all, the only way that all group members can get the grade they deserve is if they all put in the same amount of effort and would have deserved the same grade, which is rarely the case.
ReplyDeleteNow that it has been proven that teenagers can not focus as well, or pick up material as fast when they have not had a full nights sleep, why are we still insisting that we wake up when its still dark out, to go to school? And since we know it would be nearly impossible to make the homework load less in order o go to bed earlier, the only sensible solution is to start school later.

ReplyDeleteWe have all encountered a "wiff" of the boys and even some girls after a block period of PE class. Scents of body oder fill not only our nostrils but seep into our mouths as well. If we required everyone to load up on the deodorant, especially before and after exercising, then we would all be able to enjoy the fresh smells of our world.
ReplyDeleteMany young adults have preconceived notions of how the government works and false ideas that they "don't make a difference." If we teach these people how to become involved in the process of government and show them how they fit in, then they are more likely to represent their opinions and vote.
ReplyDeleteSince we know that there are some child abuse cases ignited by issues of the actual parents -- whether it be mental or physical or financial or etc... -- we must find a way for those issues to be easily fixed or prevented. If parenting classes were to be issued for all expecting parents to take, then there would not be as many cases of child abuse because the parents would be mentally, physically, financially, etc... stable, or at least more stable than they would be without the classes, as in NOW.
